Summer Drink

♫ Listening to: a random piano song
♥ Drinking: MANGO LEMONADE!

My new favorite drink is mango lemonade, it's a subsidiary obsession evolving from the combination of both my love for mango juice and lemonade. While mostly the lemon flavors stand out, the juicy mango complements this drink perfectly. I got this organic kind at Henry's - it was only $1.50! They have other stuff too like pomegranate juice, pineapple coconut juice (I would love to try that), mango tea, etc. And the glass is pretty, which is an extra plus. LOVE IT!

Anna Sui for Target

♫ Listening to: Taylor Swift - You Belong With Me

Anna Sui for Target. I know this is like old news, but I thought I would repeat it again. Could it get any better? One of my favorite designers, not to mention a overwhelmingly popular TV show! The clothes on the show are amazing (not to mention amazingly expensive), but now Anna Sui is designing looks based on the famous TV show at an affordable store. I adore Blair's headbands, Serena's casual style, and Vanessa's boho chic. I hope they have jewelry too. This is awesome + awesome. Something to smile about. =)

DetentionSlip.org

♫ Listening to: Owl City - Umbrella Beach (AWESOME SONG + ALBUM)

If you hate the U.S. public school system, now is your chance to hear all about it! At DetentionSlip.org, news stories such as Student Sues Coach Over Facebook Message or Central Valley Student Sues Over Chemical Burns will be sure to please those who dislike the public school system in America. Some articles are hilarious, others more somber and some are just plain tragic, but there is no doubt that this is one interesting blog. Featured in TIME Magazine's Top 25 Blogs of 2009, this blog questions the sanity of our nation.

Seriously, though, it is quite interesting. I read it when I'm bored. Or when I feel like burning my textbooks. :)

"Everywhere I go I find a poet has been there before me." - Sigmund Freud

Sigmund Freud is a well known Austrian neurologist who founded psychoanalysis. (psycho - mind, analysis - study) Although his ideas
have mostly fallen out of favor, his revolutionary ideas continue to influence academics.

DIY Ripped Jeans

♫ Listening to: Bob Sinclair Ft. Steve Edwards - World, Hold On

Today, I got a kick out of reading ideas for "reinventing" clothes. There are some pretty cool ideas, such as the t-shirt one w/ bleach + vinegar. Project Runway's Kevin Christiana shows how everyday boring denim can be turned into edgy worn-in jeans. All you need is a ... cheese grater (or sandpaper)! First, insert a cylindrical object into the pants (like a vase or mug), then start grating the jeans. I don't think I'd try that but I'd like to see how it would turn out. Hmmm...

A lot of TV programs are focusing on helping Americans adjust to the recession, not only in fashion but in other areas of life, such as cooking or home decorating. Do these ideas really help? Because my life has been barely affected by the recession and that's not because I'm filthy rich. How many middle class families are affected by the recession? I really don't know. Sure these shows are fun to watch, but I don't take them seriously as a source of information for conserving money.

Chocolate Berry Sprinkles Smoothie Recipe

♫ Listening to: Cobra Starship ft. Leighton Meester - Good Girls Go Bad

The fruit was getting too ripe, so I decided to whip them together into a drink along with a chocolate covered ice cream sandwich. The blueberries created tiny blue confetti and the bits of chocolate and strawberry looked very festive!

Here's a list of ingredients needed:

•About 20 strawberries

About one carton of blueberries
Chocolate covered ice cream or an ice cream sandwich (pieces of chocolate can be used too with or without ice cream)
Mango juice (what I used) or any kind of juice can be used (optional)
Whatever else delicious! =)

1. Blend the fruits together in the blender
2. Add the ice cream/chocolate into the mix
3. Pour in the juice (optional) and whatever else
4. Blend everything together, pour into a glass and enjoy!

Beach + Pineapple

Listening to: Ashley Tisdale - Erase and Rewind

This is the lovaly view from Oceanside I took maybe a week ago. I don't live there but the view is gorgeous. Today is like the perfect day for the beach but alas I am stuck at home, which isn't bad either. :) Well, I watched The View this morning and ate pop tarts. (SMORES!)

I'm cooking lunch ... that reminds me: yesterday I cut a pineapple for the first time in my life! How awesome is that? Hah! Then I cut it into chunks and I drizzled honey over it, which is a really cool idea considering that I hate how pineapples can be sour and make my tongue all tingly. So now, everyone can eat sweet(er) pineapples! =) You're welcome.
