Self Portrait:

♫ Listening to: nothing actually
Oh my, I have a C in my math class. I think I am going to die. Expire. Pass Out. NOW. :(
whattodo? whattodo? I'm going to try to get a B. If I get a 100% on the final, I could get an A. But I don't want to go into all the what ifs. I was going to tell funny story, but now I forget. Anyway, I ate lots of peppermint bark toda.y and beef jerky. I was looking forward to a bowl of hot chicken soup at lunch, but apparently my school only has that on random days and they don't tell us these things.

Update Ramble

♫ Listening to: Lesley Roy - I'm Going, I'm Gone

This isn't really an update since I blogged yesterday. But yesterday's post was about music and that does not count. Sooooo... Today I woke up at 12 p.m. because I was really tired this entire week. On Friday, we had a school assembly and I had to perform as part of the choir. It was a good experience over all except for the fact that it was raining. Oh and I had a math test with four problems and I missed one of them, which is a C. Oh well I can retake it. :/

On a brighter note, I went to Costco today, which is a warehouse type store that sells well, everything. Last week there was like no food at my house. No yummy snacks, so today my mom and I went to Costco. We got chicken noodle soup and chicken broth and blackberries and pinapple, which I have been craving. You know how sometimes you crave foods? I never crave chocolate or cake, instead, I crave fruit or french fries usually. Weird. We got a lot of other stuff, but I forget what. Oh yeah! We got peppermint bark, which I have NEVER had before. It's yummy! Tomorrow I'm going to a potluck so I'm going to bring some of that for dessert. Right now, I'm pretty tired, but I had a good lunch.

It's almost 2010! We are either going to Las Vegas or LA this holiday season. Last year we went to San Francisco. Really, I would be happy wherever we went because I like every single vacation. Even if we aren't going somewhere I really like, I can always find something fun to do. Go with the flow is like my life motto. Sometimes. Haha.

Semi-Giant Music Post

♫ Listening to: Nutcracker Jingles (a choir song that's REALLY GOOD)

Hey! I wanted to do this post specifically on music because if I wrote about my life, it would overflow this box. ;) So, basically, I listen to a wide variety of music. I have every single genre you can think of, so I'm pretty open minded. I listen to mostly rock/pop/electronic/country music and I listen to other genres as well but not as much. I'm going to make two lists of songs. One of songs that I really love right now at the moment. And another list of songs that I could listen to for the rest of my life, in other words, I LOVE LOVE LOVE these songs!

List of songs I love at the moment: Norah Jones - Chasing Pirates, Kelly Clarkson - Long Shot, Mutemath - Spotlight, Tokio Hotel - Human Connect to Human, Little Boots - Remedy, Song from a secret garden, Adam Lambert - For Your Entertainment, All Lights songs

List of songs I will eternally enjoy: Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody, All Beatles Songs (my favorites being Hello Goodbye, Love Me Do, Here Comes The Sun, Ob-la-di Ob-la-da, The Ballad of John and Yoko, Hey Jude), All Simon & Garfunkel songs (my favorites being A Hazy Shade of Winter, Sound of Silence, I Am A Rock, Homeward Bound), also Martina McBride - Independence Day, Adam Lambert - Mad World, Tokio Hotel - Monsoon, Marissa Nadler - River of Dirt, and lots lots more.

Other Artists I LOVE: La Roux, Owl City, The Veronicas, The Postal Service, Delta Goodrem. Check them out!
If you have any questions comment please. :) Enjoy!

At Lalalalast It's December!

♫ Listening to: Tokio Hotel - Human Connect to Human (I also really like The Dark Side of The Sun, and another song from their first album, Ready Set Go)

Hello! Happy December! I did really bad on my calc midterm and I have a B in AP European History, but on the bright side, we got our Christmas tree in today! Apparently when you buy over $200 at IKEA, they give you a Christmas tree for free, which is quite nice. I haven't seen it yet because I've been upstairs for a while. I redid my room, which is very exciting. And I am NOT the most organized person, but I'm trying extremely hard to control my sloppiness. Redoing my room simplified and cleaned it up. I got a long dresser of sorts and it's short enough so that I can sit on it like a bench. I also got a new nightstand. And we also got our carpet cleaned, so all the furniture in the house was moved to the wood floor and we just started putting all the furniture back yesterday. The first time we got carpet cleaners to clean our carpet, they burned parts of our carpet, so now we have permanent burn marks on the carpet. What a wonderful world.

Thanksgiving

♫ Listening to: Tokio Hotel - Monsoon

Happy Thanksgiving! I found new love for Tokio Hotel today, so I am thankful for that.
I am also thankful for:
  • my family
  • friends
  • myself (it DOES make sense if you think about it)
  • mother nature
  • the world in general
Now I'm going to go eat more food! =)

Pomegranates

♫ Listening to: Simon & Garfunkel - A Hazy Shade of Winter

There are 760 local varieties of pomegranates! Yum!
We just bought some from Costco and I'm so excited because now I can eat pomegranate whenever I want. Muhahaha. My friend has a pomegranate tree, which I am very jealous of. I would rather eat real pomegranate than drink the juice. What sucks is that the only time pomegranates are really in stock are during the winter. And they are so expensive. But it's worth the deliciousless!

Craving for Books and Music

♫ Listening to: The Carpenters - Sweet Sweet Smile
Two of my favorite groups of singers of ALL TIME are Simon & Garfunkel and The Carpenters. I love every single one of their songs! There's not a lot artists where I like all of their songs. Probably The Veronicas is one of them and The Beatles and Lights. Simon & Garfunkel have such a unique vibe and it makes you nostalgic and their lyrics are amazing. I can listen to their songs everywhere and anytime. On the other hand, Karen Carpenter (The Carpenters) has a gorgeous voice. They have some sad ballads and some more cheerful upbeat songs as well. Lalalalalalala. Anyways....

Have you ever been addicted to a book series? I have this very awkward situation at hand. I really like a lot of series like Gilda Joyce (I can quote those books from memory!) , but they're in the children's section and it's kinda awkward when I'm a teenager and I walk around among people half my age and size. Am I supposed to grow up and not read these books anymore? These books are like dear friends to me and I would like to keep reading them, but they aren't the thought-provoking books that most adults or teachers would prefer I read. Reading is more of a relaxing thing for me, when I read I want to be having a good time. I don't want my thoughts to be provoked. Those are snooze books for me.

Chocolate and Country

♫ Listening to: Lady Antelllbleleuhoweveryouspellit - Need You Now

Chocolate oranges are the best! If you've never had one, I deeply recommend you try one. Don't eat the whole thing at once. Eat like 2 slices a day. It's my daily chocolate fix. I got mine at Trader Joe's for $2.49 and Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreen's probably have them too. I think you can also order them online too. If you don't like oranges, you might as well stop reading this. If you don't like chocolate, well, get out! :)

Did I mention, I watched the CMA's yesterday because I had no school and I finished all of my homework. Taylor Swift awesome, but at school today, I felt a lot of people criticized her. People said that she didn't know how to sing and that she sounded bad live. Well, I thought she sounded pretty good and I think she definitely knows how to sing! The only problem I have is that I think she flipped her hair to much and the hair flipping seemed a little forced instead of natural. I don't think that made sense. Oh well.
Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley hosted. Carrie looked really pretty, but in the beginning she kept tugging her dress shoulder up and that was a sign of nervousness. We all get nervous but it was a little weird seeing someone so famous exhibiting nervousness.
I just realized that I think of celebrities as perfect people, which I know they are not, but they always seem perfect - on screen at least. Most of their personal lives are messed up though. Anyway, Carrie's dresses were really pretty, I like the ruffly orange one the best.
And Lady Antebellum's performance was really gooooood. Oh and just saying, I'm not that big of a fan of country music. I have a fair share of country songs on iTunes, but I'm not crazy about it. What I do like are award shows though. :)

Dundundun

♫ Listening to: Mandy Moore - Only Hope

"There's a song that's inside of my soul
It's the one that I've tried to write over and over again
I'm awake in the infinite cold
But you sing to me over and over and over again"

Tomorrow is a choir festival and I'm not looking forward to it much. :/ We don't sound blended and I hardly know anyone in choir. I think for a musical group to really sound good, we should all at least know each other!
Also, I've been trying to buy a guitar. My mom and I checked out some auction sites relating to guitars and we placed a few bids. I hope we win because I would like to learn how to play the guitar. A guitar is so cool because you can bring it anywhere. Not like a piano, which I would be crazy to try to roll around.
Good news! The brown pelican is now officially off the California Endangered Species List! Yay!

Mock SAT

♫ Listening to: Alexander Rybak - Song From A Secret Garden

Ok so... the quarter ended last last week and I got all A's. So I'm superficially happy. And also, I have the mock SAT this Saturday and to hell with it because I am not studying. I just want to see how "smart" or rather, how dumb I am before I study, and then by that measurement, I can rightfully decide what I should do to improve my score. Should I studying on my own or do some kind of tutoring program that's $3000? I have no idea. It depends on what happens this Saturday. Ooooooh. I feel more pressured now. Writing here did not help. At all. So much for blog therapy.
